Always have your camera with you. You just never know when you are going to get a great shot. I'm sure you been driving and saw a great shot and you did not have your camera, it is a pretty lousy feeling watching some thing slip by , because you did not have your camera.
The other day I was helping a freind out at his house hanging some doors. At the end of the day I was backing up out of his drive and I look up in a tree and got this shot. www.davidroyfultonphotography.com

Being Smarter than your camera
Always Remember to be Smarter than your camera. Always remember the last settings on your camera before the next shoot. The other day I went on a shoot and came across a spoon bill up close. i started taking some shots and look at them and realized that I did not change my last settings in the camera from the last shoot, which was a sunset shot . I had added a lot of saturation in the program. I look at my shots of the spoon bill and know I forgot to adjust my camera for the shoot. white balance , saturation, etc. Luckily for me the spoonbill was a very good model and understood that I was not as smart as my camera and waited for me to adjust it for the perfect pose.
